Abstract

After spinal intradural surgery, various types of surgical adhesives are used to ensure watertight dural closure. Among them, BioGlue (CryoLife, USA) is commonly used as a surgical adhesive after surgery for intradural pathology. However, this adhesive can gradually expand by absorbing surrounding fluid, resulting in delayed spinal cord compression and neurological symptoms/signs. In this study, we describe a case of thoracic myelopathy caused by a compressive mass formed after applying BioGlue on the spinal dura at the laminectomy site after spinal meningioma surgery.
